Job Title: Account Executive – Advertising Sales
Company: Purplegator
Location: Primarily Remote – Philadelphia preference, but not a requirement
Reports to: President & CEO
About Purplegator:
Purplegator is a fast-growing digital marketing agency specializing in data-driven campaigns across mobile, social, digital, direct response, and traditional channels. In the past two years, we have been named a fastest growing company by Inc. 5000, Philly 100, and Financial Times. Our CEO was recently named to the Titan 100 of top Philadelphia C-level executives. We have specializations in recruitment and government campaigns, but serve clients in a wide range of industries—including healthcare, public sector, e-commerce, education, and entertainment—providing full-service marketing strategies and execution.
Position Overview:
Purplegator is seeking a highly motivated Account Executive or CMO with agency sales experience and a book of business they can bring over immediately. You’ll be responsible for developing new client relationships, nurturing current prospects, and growing agency revenue. Some leads will be provided, but we are looking for a true hunter—someone who knows how to find opportunities and close deals.
This is a high-impact sales role offering long-term earning potential. You’ll work directly with the company president, enjoy the flexibility of working from home, and earn commission for the life of the account, not just the first few months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects.
- Leverage your existing book of business to generate immediate new revenue.
- Create compelling presentations and proposals tailored to client needs.
- Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, pitching, closing, and upselling.
- Collaborate with internal teams (creative, media, and strategy) after the sale has been made to ensure client success.
- Consistently meet or exceed sales goals.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in advertising or digital agency sales.
- Proven track record of closing deals and growing long-term client relationships.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a remote-first environment.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Existing client contacts and warm leads strongly preferred.
What We Offer:
- Competitive base salary + commission
- Commission for the life of the account
- 401(k) with company match
- Healthcare coverage
- Profit sharing
- Paid time off (unlimited PTO after three years)
- Flexible, remote-first work environment
- Direct access to company leadership and input on strategy
Why Purplegator?
We’re not just another agency. We’re a team of growth-driven marketers who value relationships, innovation, and measurable results. If you’re ready to take control of your career and work alongside industry pros while earning residual income for your efforts, we want to hear from you.
Purplegator Marketing Agency & Consultants – Suburban Philadelphia (Primarily Remote)
Purplegator is a fast-growing marketing agency based in suburban Philadelphia, helping brands win with smart, data-driven marketing across mobile, digital, and traditional channels. Our team of strategists, creatives, and technologists partners with clients across the U.S. to drive measurable results.
In the past few years, Purplegator has been recognized for its growth and leadership, including:
- Financial Times – #123 Fastest-Growing Company in the Americas (2024) and #170 in the Americas (2025)
- Inc. Magazine – #64 Fastest-Growing Company in the Northeast (2022)
Inc. 5000 – #1,496 Fastest-Growing Private Company in the USA (2023) - Philly 100 – #11 Fastest-Growing Company in the Philadelphia Region (2023)
- Bob Bentz (President) – Philadelphia Titan 100 Business Leader (2024–2025)
We’re now seeking an experienced marketing or advertising agency new business development salesperson to help propel our next stage of growth.
The Role
As our New Business Development Sales Executive, you will be responsible for owning the full sales cycle – from prospecting and first meetings all the way through to proposal, close, and ongoing relationship handoff.
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Has significant experience selling marketing/advertising agency services
- Brings an extensive contact list of prospects and previous clients
- Loves to prospect, pitch, and close – and wants to build something long-term
You’ll work closely with our leadership team, but this is a high-ownership, hunter role: you’re expected to generate and close a meaningful portion of your own opportunities. While Purplegator will provide some inbound leads and support, success in this role is driven by your ability to open doors and win new accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify, prospect, and qualify new business opportunities with brands that can benefit from Purplegator’s services
- Leverage your existing network and contact list to re-engage former clients and warm relationships
- Conduct discovery calls and meetings to deeply understand client needs, challenges, and goals
- Collaborate with internal teams to shape compelling proposals, presentations, and scopes of work
- Lead the sales process end-to-end – from initial outreach to negotiation and deal close
- Maintain a healthy, transparent pipeline with accurate forecasting and reporting
- Represent Purplegator at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities (as appropriate)
- Provide feedback from the marketplace to help refine Purplegator’s offerings and positioning
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of proven success in new business development for a marketing, advertising, or digital agency
- Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed sales targets
- A strong, active Rolodex of decision-makers and influencers (CMOs, marketing directors, business owners, etc.)
- Comfort selling complex marketing solutions (digital, mobile, social, creative, traditional, etc.)
- Excellent presentation, communication, and consultative selling skills
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently in a primarily work-from-home environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
Big pluses (not required, but highly valued):
- A niche vertical specialty (e.g., healthcare, retail, staffing/recruitment, education, franchise, etc.) and a track record of selling into that industry
- Experience helping an agency grow rapidly or expand into new markets
If you have a vertical where you’ve repeatedly won business, we want to hear about it – Purplegator sees niche expertise as a strategic opportunity to deepen specialization in new industries.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary
- Commission and bonus structure with commission paid for the lifetime of the client
- 401(k) with company matching
- Profit sharing
- Healthcare benefits
- Unlimited PTO after three consecutive years of service
- Primarily work-from-home environment with the support of a collaborative, experienced team
This role offers the opportunity to build a highly lucrative book of business with ongoing commission participation as your clients grow with Purplegator.
Location
- Purplegator is headquartered in suburban Philadelphia (Wayne area)
- Role is primarily remote/work-from-home, with occasional in-person meetings or events as needed
- Philadelphia-area base is preferred, but not required
